Business advisory & tax

Compliance is the floor, not the service.

Business accounting, tax and advisory for owner-managed companies. Filing on time is the minimum anyone should expect. What you are actually paying for is entity structure, owner compensation and the planning that only works before December.

Services

What we do

We work with owner-managed businesses between roughly $500k and $20M in revenue. Below that we'll point you somewhere better suited.

Business tax & compliance

Federal, state and local returns, filed early rather than extended. Extensions are a symptom, not a service.

Monthly accounting

Books closed by the tenth, with a short written commentary. You should not be finding out about last quarter in April.

Advisory & CAS

Entity structure, owner compensation, cash-flow forecasting and the tax planning that only works if it happens before December.

Personal returns for owners

Your personal return is included, because for an owner the company and the household are one problem wearing two hats.

Results

Our last accountant sent one email in February asking for eleven things we'd already sent. Corven set up a portal, chased automatically, and we've never had that conversation again.

Process

Switching accountants

Easier than people think, and best done between May and August rather than in January.

  1. Discovery call

Thirty minutes. What your business does, what's currently painful, and whether we're the right size for each other.

  2. Review & proposal

We look at two years of returns and your current books, then propose a fixed monthly fee. No hourly billing, ever.

  3. Transition

We request records from your current accountant, so you don't have to have that conversation. Usually two to three weeks.

  4. Quarterly rhythm

Books monthly, a proper conversation quarterly, tax planning in the autumn while it can still change the outcome.

The year

Four conversations, not one filing.

The meeting room gets used every quarter. The filing happens in between, and it is the smaller part of the work.

Just finished a rough busy season?

Then this is the right month to talk. Everything worth fixing has to be built between May and August. By January it's too late to change anything.

Or leave your details and we'll call you back.

Fixed monthly fees. Business clients from roughly $500k revenue. Free discovery calls.
