Grand Street Works

We build websites for owner-run firms. Then the software behind them.

Sites and native apps for practices, firms and contractors. We read what converts in your trade before anything gets designed. You own the code and the hosting.

No call, nothing to cancel. Or see your trade rebuilt first →

[SEC_02] Work

Twenty trades. Six directions each.

Some of our favorite builds. We researched the best and worst sites in that trade, then built what the good ones had.

All the same shape: owner-run, decent margins, a small team wearing a few hats. Open the closest one on your phone.

[SEC_03] Before anything is agreed

We'll rebuild your homepage first.

Send the URL. You get back a real homepage for your business, built on the structure the top firms in your trade all share.

Send us your URL →
  • Your real business, read off the site you have now
  • The read behind it, written out, so your own developer could use it
  • A live link to send round the office
  • No call, no obligation, nothing to cancel
  • If the site isn't the problem, we'll say so
  • A handful a month. Ask and we'll tell you if there's room

Joe Waine

Principal

Joe has been building for the web since 2013: agency work for big brands, then in-house, then a decade working straight for owners. Also native iOS and Mac apps, and the unglamorous plumbing that connects a business's software to itself.

[SEC_05] Fair questions
Our site was fine when we paid for it.

Most were. But people look you up on a phone now, in the evening, with two competitors open in other tabs. A page built for a 2016 desktop loses on load time alone.

We're too small for this.

Smaller usually makes the maths better. One person in a ten-person firm is doing four jobs, so an enquiry that books itself hands an hour back to all four. Big firms with a marketing team get the least out of this.

Is our client data safe?

Anything we build runs on your accounts and your hosting, and nothing gets write access until you've watched it work on drafts. We stay out of clinical records, payroll and anything carrying regulatory liability.

Aren't you just a new kind of lock-in?

No. The code, the data and the accounts sit in your name from day one, and the contract says so. The care plan is optional. If you ever hand the site to another engineer, they'll find everything already in place and nothing to prise out of us.

What does it cost, and how much of our time does it take?

Fixed fee agreed before work starts, no hourly billing. Your side of a build is one call to pick a direction, one pass on the words, one review before it goes live. The homepage rebuild takes an email.
